SUGBU ends Tigers' 3-game win streak

Roland Nacario scattered 15 of his 26 points in the final stretch as SUGBU ended league-leader DC Tigers' three-game winning run, 72-66, in the 10th Customs Employees and Brokers Union (C.E.B.U.) basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.
Allan Umali and Lito Bagahansol ably backed up Nacario with 10 points each.
The DC Tigers of Lourdes Cebu Costums District Collector Lourdes Mangaoang were led by Arthur Santillan with 30 points, while Bert Sta. Cruz and Dondon Llenos chipped in 10 points apiece in a losing cause.
In the 35-below division, MJDL relied on the heroics of Efren Bandec to outgun Duterte Brokers via a 73-71 thriller.
Bandec, who scored 15 points, cooly sank his free throws in the final seven seconds of the game to hand MJDL its second win against the same number of losses.
Francis Palero topscored with 23 points, while Winher Daan added 11 points for MJDL.
Raymund Gabison and Aboju Cuyos led the losing team with 15 and 14 markers, respectively.
Also, Purcia Transport System registered its third win after routing MEZ, 74-65.
Joseph Jayme and Randy Francia scored 18 points for Purcia, while Gary Cortez and Bert Purcia connived for 26 points for Purcia Transport.
