Yu pockets Quickflight downhill title

PJ Yu ended his quest in the Quickflight Downhill Classic with another leg title after winning the final leg the other day in Busay.
Yu outsmarted two motocross riders in the expert class with full suspension bikes.
He opened the day with the best time in the first heat, finishing the one kilometer race course in one minute and 41.93 seconds and then improved his mark in the final heat to secure the final leg's victory in 1:41.38.
Quickflight's Ted Conde was behind Yu's time to go home with the second honors in 1:43.09 as Gene Faelnar was third in 1:46.21.
The first lady's action saw Princess Lopez winning the crown in 2:52.42 while a determined Rochell Tuburan survived in seven minutes and 30 seconds.
Bawing Bucariza, for his part, did well again, winning the novice division in 1:46.88.
Behind Bucariza were Jun Fernandez with 1:52.29 and Giovani Villaluz with 2:01.33.
In the executive class, Apen Sanson (2:05.78) outsmarted Noel Quijano (2:35.91).
Macky Igot, Richard Lato and Neil Barz completed the winners' circle under the full suspension bikes after making it to the 1-2-3 list.
In the hardtail battle, Gene Faelnar took the champion's trophy in the elite level. He won first place in 1:53.40, a comfortable gap over Ian Dorz, who submitted 2:18.77.
The executive class saw Edgar Virtudazo unopposed while the novice division had Donky Sanchez on top in 1:49.23 as the second and third places went to Hansel Bacalso and Bryan Botter, respectively.
Kevin Paul Yu came out the fastest in the beginner's class in 1:45.98 while Michael Merilles was second in 1:56.09 and Lex Lopez at third with 1:58.81 in this Nature's Spring-presented event along with the support of MS Motosuit, Bikehub, Aison Bikeshop and YKK Trading.
