Go tops X'mas Fellowship golf

Vicente 'Inting' Go bagged the lowest gross honors in last Friday's 2005 Christmas Fellowship Tournament of the Federation of Phil. Senior Golfers, Inc. at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.

Go fired nines of 37 and 39 on the par-72 course to bag the top honors for the event, which was organized by the FPSGI-Cebu Chapter headed by Matias 'Bombi'Aznar III, who is also chairman of the host club.

The title for the Young Seniors class went to Enrique Young with a net score of 69 strokes. Roger Lo took the first runner-up honors with his net score of 71 after sneaking past Vic Esperas in the countback. Esperas settled for the 2nd runner-up honors.

Renato Go topped the Mature Seniors class shooting a tournament-best net score of 64 strokes. First runner-up via the countback was Boy Castillo with a net score of 68 while Max Tan was 2nd runner-up also with a net 68.

Ben Villamor ruled the Super Seniors class with as net score of 71 strokes. Ed Sanchez was first runner-up with his net score of 74 while 2nd runner-up was Tony Sikimhua with a net score of 75.

The Guest division title went to Undo Selma with a net score of 68. This is for players, who have not yet reached 55 years old, which is the age that would qualify them to be seniors.

First runner-up was Dondon Arquiza with a net score of 70 while Rolando Alberto was 2nd runner-up with a net score of 71.

Aznar was among the keynote speakers during the awards ceremony along with Rolly Santos, president of the senior golfers of the host club.

A total of 91 players took part in the event that was hounded by rain all day long.-NLQ
