GUV Cup resumes today

The 1st Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup resumes 8 a.m. today at the Mandaue Sports Complex and Cultural Center.
Host team Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Minglanilla won all its three assignments in the quarterfinals last week to lead in its respective brackets.
Also clinching semifinal berths are Toledo City, Catmon and Carcar.
Only the top two teams will advance in the final round which will follow the single round and double elimination format.
The finals round is set to kick off December 20 with the champion to get P100, 000 cash prize and the runner-up with P50,000.
Exciting prizes like Timex watches are also up for special awardees.
Lapu-Lapu City will take on Minglanilla in the opening match followed by Catmon versus Toledo City.
Mandaue City awaits the winner in game one while Carcar takes on the winner in game two.
