Tribu Sugbu stays unbeaten in NBC caging

ANTIPOLO CITY - The Skygo/Sirlitz-backed Tribu Sugbu stays unbeaten as it routed Antips, 107-80, in the NBC-ABL Cong. Ronaldo Puno Cup at the Antipolo Auditorium here.

Cebuano gunner Doroteo Almacin, Jr. fired a team-high 16 points after a 22-point outburst in their win over Homer Cagers in the opening day to lead the team of businessmen Lito Gillamac, Jr. and Mario King.

Five more other players chipped in double figure markers for first NBC national champion team. The Cong. Ronaldo Puno-Antips got 17 points from Buchi Domangcas but was not enough as they absorbed their second straight setback.

Former UP stalwart Edrick Ferrer waxed hot with 25 points to lead Homer Cagers. Meanwhile, Mayore Freddie Tinga's Forward Taguig bucked ex-pro Henry Fernandez's tournament-high 34 points to deal Cong.

The Boysen Phils-backed PICE-Rizal barged into the win column as they clipped the Spring Cooking Oil Masters in a high-scoring 109-102 victory.

Dave Javier led all scorers with 21 points to escape with the win despite four players scoring in double figures for NBC President Nathaniel "Tac" Padilla's Cooking Oil Masters.
