Miguel Caindec carried Don Bosco College to the helm as it survived a tough Hiroshi FC, 1-0, to collar the boys-12 title of the 9th Aboitiz Football Cup yesterday at San Roque field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
The spirited Caindec, who has posted three goals in their previous matches, played the hero's role as he found a leak in Hiroshi's defense by scoring DBC's lone goal at the 41st minute, lifting his team to victory in a tightly fought match.
Hiroshi was formerly the Cebu City Central School football team under Francis Ramirez, who bagged last year's title.
It was a match between teams with a similar 2-1 win-draw record as DBC and Hiroshi fought for a 1-all draw during the elimination round.
The battle for third between Paref Springdale and Cebu International School was postponed on November 19 upon the request of the latter, who is currently in Manila joining the 2005 Alaska Cup.
On the other hand, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation figured for a 1-all tie with San Roque FC in the boys 15-under division.
Both teams found its form late in the game, SRFC ignited the attack behind Evan Manuel Ancajas' swift goal at the 82nd minute.
But just a minute gone, Jan Nicol Versoza got past the keeper to equalize the match.
