Express avenges loss to Beermen

The Air 21 Express extracted revenge over the San Miguel Beermen, 90-86, in the 2005 PBA San Mig Coffee Fiesta Conference at the Araneta Coliseum.
After losing to the Beermen in double overtime in Roxas City, the Express managed to pull even behind the stellar performances of bulky import Shawn Daniels and deadly local scorer Renren Ritaulo, who both scored 22 points each.
The Beermen led in the first three periods but after Ranidel de Ocampo gave the lead to the Express, 77-76, a few minutes gone by in the fourth period, the Express never allowed the Beermen to pull away as a see-saw battle then ensured.
Not to be outdone, Daniels and Ritualo joined in the scoring parade, starting in the third quarter where they combined for 15 points out of the 28 points scored by the Express who registered their fourth win in nine games.
The terrible free throw shooting by the Beermen also proved to be one major factor for their loss because even Danny Seigle, Danny Ildefonso and import Kwan Johnson found it difficult to convert their charities.
The Beermen evened the score, 84-84, in the final one minute of the ballgame but Patrick Fran made the insurance free throws for the Express with still 17.6 to go.
Then, the Beermen could only add two points on Seigle's two trips to the foul line for the final outcome.
Seigle made only 10 of 15 free throws as he paled in comparison against Ritualios' perfect 7 out of 7 free throws.
The Beermen now fell to 1-7 win-loss record.
