The University of San Carlos-South Campus and Don Bosco College swept its two-game assignments to book a finals berth in the Small Basketeers of the Philippines and Passarelle division, respectively, of the Milo Basketball Efficiency Scientific Training Regional Championship yesterday at Negros Oriental Multi-purpose gym.
The SBP reigning champion USC-South banked on the its veteran players Daryl Nazareno, Bradley Bacaltos and Elgie Purisima in leading the attack as they coasted to easy routs.
USC opened its bid with a loud bang after pulling out a 37-22 lopsided win over Ateneo de Ilo-ilo before it clawed St. John Institute (SJI) of Bacolod City, 43-22.
USC is highly favored in bagging the crown as they see little opposition when they lock up with Ateneo de Ilo-ilo in the finals today, which starts at 8 a.m.
On the other hand, DBC under coach Rudy Enterina will battle SJI in the finals showdown in the pasarrelle division.
DBC repulsed the tough rally of University of St. La Salle to hack out a thrilling 45-42 win before turning its back on Ateneo De Ilo-ilo, 71-64.
