The 1st IDSF Cebu Open Dancesport Competition is expected to be a showdown of wits and prowess as 12 countries already sent confirmation to the event to be held at the Waterfront Hotel-Lahug on November 28.
Those who have already sent feelers are Russia, Germany, USA, China, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and Vietnam.
Half of the countries joining in the 23rd Southeast Asian Games are also joining the Cebu Open, making the event tougher as those who missed the medals in the SEA Games are expected to extract revenge over the winners.
The SEA Games dancesport will be held on November 27, still at the Waterfront Hotel.
The Cebu Open will be divided into two divisions namely the open and closed Asia division both for the latin and standard events.
Cash prizes will be given away to the top six dance couples.
The top three winners also get trophies while all the finalists get medals.
