UV, UC score big in CESAFI 2005

- Raffy S. Alas III -
The University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers and the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters are the biggest winners in the 2005 edition of the Cebu School's Athletic Federation, Inc., (CESAFI).

The Green Lancers made historic victories in the premier basketball and football events in the competition set as selection for athletes which will represent Cebu in the regional Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) meet sometime next year here in Cebu City.

The Lancers captured their fifth championship trophy in the seniors basketball event behind bench-tactician Elmer "Boy" Cabahug.

They tore into pieces the UC Webmasters, 76-55, allowing their opponents only two points in the entire third quarter.

The feat of the seniors team followed the championship victory of their juniors counterparts, who had to pass by the proverbial eye of the needle before dispatching the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildkittens, 67-66.

In the distaff side, it was the UC Lady Webmasters, who captured the throne via a 68-63 thrashing of the University of San Carlos Lady Warriors.
