VRJ Engineering turns back Collins, 93-79, in PPSA caging

VRJ Engineering repulsed Collins, pulling out a 93-79 triumph in the Punta Princesa Sports Association basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym.

VRJ enjoyed a huge lead right from the start by erecting 28 points, 73-45, by the end of the third period.

Collins attempted to close in behind the ferocious rally of Ampog Lopez and Allan Ricaña but their efforts proved futile as time ran out.

Jeffrey Jabat carried VRJ with 18 points while Michael Arias chipped in 16 markers aside from several assists that also drew double figures each from Fred Granada and Mol Dacayana.

VRJ's victory improved their standing to 3-1 win-loss record behind undefeated Kartabz in the 40-above category while Collins, top scored by Ricaña with 16 points, remained winless in as many outings.

On the other hand, St. Therese Pawnshop mangled Pipeline Restaurant, 102-91, in the 30-above division for a 3-3 card.
