Maitland wins CFIF bowling

Maitland Smith Cebu, Inc. reasserted its supremacy to nail the title in the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation (CFIF) Annual Bowling Tournament at Gaisano Bowlingplex.

Maitland Smith landed second spot in the elimination round with 2,449 pinfalls behind leader OPASCOR's 2,486 pinfalls. Lily Industries and Casa Cebuana Incorporada I had 2,181 and 2,130, respectively.

Maitland Smith jump off to hot start to win match two by toppling 789 pins over Lily Industries who had 682 points to set up a finals showdown against Opascor, who automatically clinched a finals slot.

In the finals round, Maitland continued its blazing run knocking down 798 pins and frustrated Opascor with 747 pinfalls to go home with P8,000 plus trophy.

Runner-up Opascor received P6,000, while Lily Industries and Casa Cebuana Incorporada I pocketed P4,000 and P3,000, respectively.

On the other hand, Easter Lina of Techmaster Furniture claimed the highest single for women after scoring 167 pinfalls while Bernie Cortes of Lily Industries logged the highest single for men with 209 pinfalls.- Sona Mae V. Povadora
