3 Cebu cities to join Manila Youth Games

The cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Danao are mulling on joining the Manila Youth Games (MYG) set next month in Metro Manila.

Today, representatives of the three cities are attending a technical assembly for the MYG.

Cebu City will be represented by Cebu City Sports Commission executive director Allan Torrevillas while Mandaue will have Cheryl Ouano.

Councilor Oscar "Boying" Rodriguez is taking the cudgels for Danao.

The MYG features five sports, but the three cities invited have not yet made any confirmation as to what events they will be joining in.

Aside from the technical assembly, the three sports officials who are also part of CebuSOc hopes to get sponsorships and support from Cebu representatives for the SEA Games.

So far, only Rep. Ramon "Red" Durano VI has pledged financial support for the SEA Games.

CebuSOC hopes that the other Cebuano representatives will follow Durano in supporting Cebu's co-hosting of the SEAG since the P10 million allocation from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is not enough for the six sports set here in Cebu.
