Honda CRV up for grabs

A brand new Honda CRV from Honda Cars Philippines is at stake for a hole-in-one in the P3-million Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu 70th Anniversary Tournament set from Sept. 8 to 11 at its 7,000-yard golf course in Pulangyuta, Danao City.
This was announced by the tournament committee members led by ClubFil chairman Renato V. Osmeña during yesterday's news conference at their clubhouse situated at the 16th floor of FGU-Ayala Life Building in Cebu Business Park.
A Skygo motorcycle and a roundtrip ticket to Hong Kong, courtesy of Philippine Airlines, are also up for grabs for an ace. The prizes will be assigned to specific holes.
A total of 90 teams have already signed up for the 36-hole, four-man team event using Modified Stableford scoring system.The format awards six points for a double eagle, five for an ace, four for eagle, three for birdie, two for par, and one for bogey.
Only the three best scores per day would count for the team total and the score of CFIC member in the team must count. Each team shall be composed of one club member and three guests.
Ricarte Santos, CFIC treasurer and finance committee head, said that guests from Honolulu, Hawaii and Las Vegas, Nevada will be coming over to compete in the four-day golfest.
Different golf clubs around the country will also be fielding in competitors such as the famous Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club and Riviera Golf and Country Club.
Some portions of the event will be shown on RCTV 36.
Santos added that the 2.8-kilometer road leading to the golf course has been asphalted as Club Filipino's way of welcoming the participants in the most hospitable way it could offer.
As an added bonus, Wilson golf shoes from Wilson Sports (Nine Coast Enterprises) will be given away to all the participants as well as Club Filipino members.
Trophies are at stake for the overall champion and the top three teams per handicap category. There will also be special prizes for the team with the best score per round.
The awarding ceremony promises to be a night of fun and laughters with two of the country's top entertainers, Rico Puno and Hadji Alejandro, gracing the affair on Sept. 11 at the Waterfront-Cebu City Hotel.
The tournament, which is in line with CFIC's 70th anniversary celebration, has San Miguel Corporation-Super Dry Beer as its platinum sponsor. Casino Filipino Cebu is the diamond sponsor.
Gold sponsors are Pansit Malabon Express and Cebu Mitsumi. Inc.
