Host San Roque hoists 12-under girls trophy

Host team San Roque Football Club girls team displayed brilliance as they collared the Girls 12-under division title in the 2nd SRFC Football Festival yesterday at Subangdaku in Mandaue City.
San Roque had a bad start as they lost their first match, 1-0 to Bright Academy but made up for it in the next matches by posting three consecutive victories in an impressive fashion.
San Roque carved out a 4-0 win against Pabol A and Pabol B and scored a 3-0 whitewash over Bright Academy, where they also face off in the finals with a 2-0 blitz behind the scoring brilliance of its skipper Alexandra Trebol, who posted 11 of the 13 goals.
The rest of the members of the champion squad are Elsie Ann Juezan, Maritani Ysabel Trebol, Mary Loreenb Getigan, Arby Remedio, Ana Loraine del Mar, Analyn del Mar, Shandra Gayne Colina, Queenie Chua, Gabriela Darza and Christine Mantos.
On the other hand, Pabol Guissepe bagged the Players 6 crown frustrating Springdale in the finals round, 1-0, after going undefeated in the elimination.
Lorenzo Genco scored the lone goal for Pabol in the 20th minute, which is also composed of Xavier Larrauin, Francesca Villafanin, Gabriel Lopez, Jack Sambrano, Gregory Liu, Matias Robinson and Joaquin Suarez.
Meanwhile, Springdale advanced in the semifinals round with a 4-1 win-draw card along with Pomeroy with 3-1-1 win-draw-loss card in the players 8 bracket A, while Canduman topped bracket A with 4-1 win-draw card followed by SRFC with three wins.
The tournament resumes today with favorites CIS seeing action in the Girls 17 and action in the boys 17, men's open and 37 up will also start today. - Sona Mae V. Povadora
