Cebuana lady kegler Sheena Go is hanging on tough as she continued to struggle to keep her bid alive in the premiere Women's World Championship at the Lovvang Bowling Center in Denmark.
The venue of the game has not been favoring well the Cebuana and the rest of the Philippine Team since the first day as they performed poorly in their games.
Go, who phoned her father the other day to inform of her bad showing, was not in her usual form, logging a measly 150 pinfalls or less per game.
"Sheena was crying when she called her father. She wanted to quit at the height of her career where she is representing the country and she's not performing well," Gaisano Bowlingplex manager, Elvis Lee told The Freeman.
One major factor for the poor showing of the Filipinas is the venue, which is not air-conditioned.
"It's cold in Denmark so their venues are not air-conditioned. Unya init mana siya. Sheena's fingers were swollen because of the friction it created, " added Lee.
The RP trio team composed of Go, Irene Benitez and Elaine Florencio, languished at no. 22 tallying a total of 3,146 pinfalls, with Go accounting her lowest 124 pinfalls in the opening game.
In the doubles event, Go and Elaine Florencio settled 90th place with 2,063, Liza del Rosario and Cecilia Yap at the no. 26th with 2,376 while Irene Benitez and Josephine Canare made it 16th.
No Philippine team, despite the entry of former World champion del Rosario, made the cut in the top 16 for the masters events even as Go found herself at the cellar for 214th place. - Sona Mae V. Povadora
