The 15-man token delegation of Team Cebu City-dancesport went past the expectation as they grabbed 11 gold, two silver and two bronze medals to top anew in the Dancesport Council of the Philippines (DCP) National Mid-Year Ranking and Competition at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The victory proved the Cebuanos dominance in the field after scoring a grand slam last year and successfully defending its championship crown in the 2005 First Quarterly Ranking last March.
Over the weekend, the Cebu bets again made another important achievement as they romped off with the championship title in the Mid-Year Ranking and Competition, the second major tournament organized by the DCP.
The gold medallists are Jared Geson and Jenjen Pugoy in the juvenile latin standard, Rollin Ponce and Jane Takahashi in the junior C latin standard, Israel Ron and Jennifer Amahan (special event 10male latin), Ranel Espinosa and Carla Claire Lagaras (special event 1-female), Bernie Tomarong and Anna Dimaano (special event 2-standard), Lowel Bernados and Jeanen Bergado (grade C standard) and Loiloi Rendon and Eleanor Hayco (senior A standard and Latin).
The Cebu bets, on the other hand, eked out a 1-2-3 finish in the grade B standard with Jojie and Jonah del Rosario taking the gold, Bernie Tomarong and Anna Dimaano for the silver and Lowell Bernados and Jeanen Bergado for the bronze medal.
The latin grade B contenders also produced a gold courtesy of Rannel Espinosa and Carla Claire Lagaras and a bronze by Israel Rona and Jennifer Amahan.
The two bronze medals were won in the special event 1 (latin) by Israel Rona and Jennifer Amahan and junior A by Eo Lowen Rendon and Mary Desiree Seraga.
