Five-time champion Fighter Wine '90 capitalized on its experience as it demolished the younger Batch 2000, 79-49 even as Edcon Glass '92 prevailed over Pagcor 2000, 52-49, in the Sacred Heart Alumni Basketball Association (SHABA) at the SHS-J gym.
The absence of three-time MVP Dave Lim was barely felt as Fighter Wine run smoothly to anchor their third win in four outings.
Bandy Benedicto posted 17 points while Chad Cañares chipped in 12 markers.
On the other hand, Rony Gasendo filled in the absence of Edcon's leading scorer and skipper Kent dela Calzada by chalking up 18 points, racing to a 23-26 deficit at the half.
But Edcon sparked a 16-4 third quarter blast to eke past Pagcor and better its standing to 3-1 win-loss record.
Kevin Villamor, for his part, scored 18 points as Pagcor dropped to 2-2.
In the other game, White Gold '96 launched a third quarter onslaught to beat Gef Carrier '98, 49-41.
Juny Alejandro had 18 points while Michael Mangubat added 13 to lead White Gold.
The victory tied White Gold with Edcon and Fighter Wine atop the Lux Oriens division with identical 3-1 cards.
