Dy and Blake Go share the opening day lead at the start of the 1st Samsung Vis-Min Interscholastic Golf Championships at the par-72 Cebu Country Club.

Dy of the University of San Carlos and Go of the Oxford Brookes University each carded eight-over-par 46 points in the Molave points system to pace the collegiate level.

The scoring format awards seven points for a double-eagle, six for an ace, five for eagle, four for birdie, three for par, two for bogey, and one for double-bogey.

Trailing them by a stroke is Efren Gica of USC with 45 points.

In the high school level, Edsel Tan of Bethany Christian School set the scorching pace shooting four-over-par 76 for a total of 50 points in the scoring format.

Charles Uy of Sacred Heart School-Jesuit and Chepe Dulay of La Salle Integrated School-Bacolod are three points adrift, scoring 47 points apiece.

John Victor Cogal of Talisay Malayan Academy, Alonzo Reyes of La Salle-Bacolod, and Charles Tiu of Cebu Eastern College, are five points further back.

Vijay Vasandani III of Centre for International Education scored 41 points to lead the elementary boys' category. He is followed by Lorenzo Almario of Springdale and Raphael Wong of CIE with identical scores of 39 points while Mikhael Manglapus of Springdale scored 37 points.

Sisters Jyra Mae and Hannah Jane Wong both of CIE pace the girls' collegiate and high school level with 51 and 48 points respectively. Naomi Tatara of SHS-J is a far third with 23 points.

Stephanie Olea, the lone bet in the girls' elementary level, fired 46 points.

In the special division for boys, Franz Ivan Dy of Bethany led the cast with 51 points followed by Angelo Jose Gandiongco of Cebu Learning Center with 50 points. At third is Harvey Sytiongsa of SHS-J with 44.

In the special division for girls, Juily Vasandani of CIE fired 41 points while her sister, Rachita also of CIE made 39. Emmylou Tan of Bethany is at third with 32 points.

In the team event, which follows the fout to play, three to count format, USC is uncontested for the collegiate class with a total of 118 courtesy of Dy (46), Gica (45), Aljun Llanos (27) while their fourth player is David Aliño with 20.

In the high school class, SHS-J is on top of the heap with 124 points.

The team members are Charles Uy with 47, Franz Olea with 40, Franz Ivan Dy with 37 and the fourth member is Shotaro Suda with 26.

Springdale is a far second with 82 points.

In the elementary level, Springdale leads with 103 points courtesy of Lorenzo Almario 39, Michael Manglapus 37, and either of the 27s of Lyon Valenzuela and Martin Mendoza.
