CBA skeds umpires upgrading accreditation course

The Cebu Badminton Association is inviting badminton officials to join in the Umpires Upgrading Accreditation Course on July 9-10 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Chairman Errol Chan of the Philippine Badminton Association (PBA) Grassroot Development program and Ma. Judith Brozula are expected to handle the accreditation.
The 2-day accreditation course will tackle issues on how to officiate tournaments, while the trainees will be given both written and practical exams.
Successful trainees will be accredited as officials by the PBA and will have a chance to officiate in the Cebu Open Badminton Invitational on July 16-17 at the Portside Badminton Plaza.
Registration fee for the accreditation is P1,000 inclusive of t-shirt, kits, and meals.
Aside from Cebu City participants, Dumaguete City and Bohol enthusiasts have already sent feelers to join.
On the other hand, the Cebu Open tournament will feature team five events namely the 12-under, 15-under, 18-under, 18-above and club players for the men's (singles and doubles), ladies (singles and doubles), mixed doubles.
Entry fee for the age group category is P50 while P200 is for the 18 and above. The executive and club members will be tabbed P500.
There will also be leveling of participants on June 14-15.
Last year, the tournament drew around 200 shuttlecock artists while tournament organizers are expecting more participants this year.
