The management of the Granny Goose Kornets yesterday announced star center Joseph Ronald Quiñahan has signed up for one more year to play for the team in the PBL.
Quiñahan, who will stay with the Kornets until July 30, 2006, was the first Kornets player to renew a contract as he is considered a franchise player having been named into the PBL Mythical Team twice. He was also invited to try-out for the RP Team along with teammates Abby Santos and fellow Mandauehanon Jett Latonio.
Expected to follow in renewing their contracts are Latonio and Richard Ian Saladaga.
Quiñahan was instrumental when the Kornets settled for third in the last PBL Unity Cup having been named top performer of the game for several times including one game where he scored a career-high 27 points against virtual champion Welcoat Paints.
He also averaged 10 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game, that made him a close MVP contender behind Mark Cardona, Anthony Washington and Arwind Santos. (GGM)
