CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival has praised the Cebu Technological University–Cebu City Medical Center (CTU–CCMC) College of Nursing for once again bringing honor to the city, after the institution secured a 100 percent passing rate in the August–September 2026 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE).

All 69 examinees from CTU–CCMC passed, placing it first nationwide in the category of schools with 50 to 99 examinees and a minimum passing rate of 85 percent.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) reported that 28,652 out of 37,359 examinees passed the PNLE, posting a national passing rate of 76.69 percent.

CTU–CCMC’s performance not only surpassed the national average but also extended its remarkable streak of five consecutive years of perfect results.

Archival described the achievement as “a truly proud moment for Cebu City,” noting that the consistency of CTU–CCMC reflects the strength of its academic foundation and the dedication of its leadership, faculty, and students.

Adding to the distinction, CTU–CCMC produced a national topnotcher: Vianca Abegail Torrejós Guarin, who ranked 10th nationwide with a rating of 90.40 percent.

Archival highlighted Guarin’s success as proof of the caliber of Cebuano nurses, saying that her accomplishment inspires future generations and underscores the city’s growing contribution to the national healthcare workforce.

The mayor extended his congratulations to Dean Audrey Garganera and CTU President Jonita Literatus, commending their stewardship in guiding the college toward sustained excellence.

He also acknowledged the support of the city government, which has partnered with CTU–CCMC in strengthening nursing education and ensuring that graduates are equipped not only with competence but also with compassion and integrity.

“Padayon, our new Cebuano nurses,” Archival said, urging the Class of 2026 to carry forward the spirit of service that defines the profession.
