Motorcycle driver killed in three-vehicle collision
CEBU, Philippines — A 27-year-old motorcycle driver was killed in a road crash involving a tourist van and a truck along the national highway in Barangay Lugo, Borbon, Cebu, early Thursday morning, August 27.
Police identified the victim as alias John, a resident of Barangay Lambusan, San Remigio.
The incident involved three vehicles traveling along the highway, according to the Borbon Municipal Police Station. The tourist van was heading northbound, while the motorcycle and the truck were traveling southbound.
The tourist van was driven by alias Wendel, 46, of Barangay Maslog, Tabogon. The truck was driven by alias Elmer, 50, of Barangay Sandayong Norte, Danao City.
Based on the initial investigation, the motorcycle allegedly crossed into the opposite lane while traveling southbound and collided with the oncoming tourist van.
The force of the collision reportedly sent the motorcycle and its driver back toward their lane.
However, they were subsequently struck by the truck that was also traveling southbound.
The motorcycle became lodged in the front portion of the truck and was dragged along the highway. (BANAT NEWS)
