Digital health platform launched in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines —  Klinikahub, a new digital healthcare platform, was officially launched yesterday, underscoring its vision of bridging technology and healthcare through an integrated system designed to streamline clinic operations, improve patient experience, and enhance coordination among healthcare providers in the Philippines.

Klinikahub is a cloud-based clinic management system that allows healthcare providers, particularly clinics, to manage patient records, appointments, billing, reporting, and other administrative processes in a single platform accessible through desktop, mobile, and web applications.

Based on its official description, the platform is developed locally in the Cebu and is positioned as an all-in-one solution aimed at improving efficiency in healthcare facilities while supporting better patient care and digital transformation in clinic management.

During a press conference, Klinikahub Managing Director James Antiporta said the idea for the platform began in 2020 after observing the operational difficulties faced by many clinics, particularly those relying on paper-based systems and fragmented patient records.

“The concept started when we saw how clinics struggled with inefficient systems, especially in managing patient flow and records. We wanted to build something that integrates everything in one platform,” Antiporta said.

He added that the COVID-19 pandemic further accelerated development, pushing the team to incorporate telemedicine and video consultation features to support remote healthcare services.

Lead Full-Stack Developer Archie Ranay also emphasized the system’s patient-centric design, explaining that Klinikahub allows users to search for clinics and doctors, book appointments online, and receive confirmations instantly. Clinics are notified digitally, reducing manual registration and repetitive paperwork upon patient arrival.

The platform enables patients to register once, after which their information can be securely accessed and managed by authorized clinics within the system. Antiporta noted that assistance is available for senior citizens or users who may have difficulty navigating digital platforms.

Klinikahub also includes verification processes to ensure only legitimate healthcare providers are listed. An onboarding team validates clinic credentials and regulatory compliance before profiles are made available on the application.

Developers highlighted that Klinikahub is hosted on Amazon Web Services, utilizing encryption, firewall protection, and server redundancy to ensure data security and system reliability. The platform also complies with data privacy requirements.

Customer support is currently available through chat and email, with plans to expand to phone support and broader nationwide coverage in the future.

Despite being in its early rollout stage, Klinikahub has already attracted interest from clinics in various regions including Cebu, Quezon, and Pagadian.

According to Head of Client Experience Rhey Joseph Bagahansol, more than 100 clinics are already in the onboarding pipeline, although only a limited number are currently active as part of phased deployment.

Chief Technology Officer Arjan Biscarra said Klinikahub is also planning to expand beyond appointment and clinic management, with upcoming features including procurement systems for medical supplies and equipment through business-to-business ordering.

The platform is also working on integration with healthcare maintenance organizations, particularly in improving the processing of Letters of Authorization.

Pharmacy integration is also under development, enabling electronic prescriptions to be processed digitally, with the goal of reducing manual transactions and improving medication tracking and accessibility.

Marketing Architect Vincent Geniston also clarified that group or bulk bookings from companies and HMOs will be managed through integrated systems while still ensuring patient-level accuracy and data privacy. — (FREEMAN)
