“Kuya Nick” voted PCL regional chair
CEBU, Philippines — Toledo City Councilor Ricardo “Kuya Nick” Pepito, president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL)–Cebu Federation, was elected regional chairman of PCL-Region 7 during the league’s regional convention held in Iloilo City on Tuesday (December 9).
The event gathered legislators from towns and cities across Central Visayas to formalize the leadership of the newly elected regional officers. Alongside Pepito, 15 other councilors from Cebu were elected to various positions in the regional chapter.
The newly elected set of officers, for Region 7, to serve for 2025-2028 term are:
Regional Chairman: Ricardo “Kuya Nick” D. Pepito (Cebu Province); Regional Vice-Chairman: Jan Vincent Dela Serna (Lapu-Lapu City); Secretary-General: Edgardo Jaypee Labella (Cebu City); Treasurer: Kyle Cheska Hortelano (Cebu Province); Auditor: Amuerfino Perales (Cebu Province); and Public Relations Officer (PRO): Merlou Dy Derama (Cebu Province).
The 12 elected members of the Board of Directors, serving for the same term, are: 1) Marvin Miralles (Cebu Province); 2) Oscar Dela Calzada (Cebu Province); 3) Winston Pepito (Cebu City); 4) Katherine Jumapao (Cebu Province);
5) Erick Gica (Cebu Province); 6) Ashley Otadoy (Cebu Province); 7) Louise Marvi Loot-Pinos (Cebu Province); 8) Al Coquilla (Bohol); 9) Glenn Anino (Bohol); 10) Erwin Rosal (Cebu); 11) Christian Paul Torribio Ordonez (Bohol); and 12) Annabeth Cuizon (Lapu-Lapu City).
Kuya Nick, in an interview with The Freeman, emphasized that his primary goal as regional chairman, is to provide support and assistance to all members of the league, not only in Cebu Province but across the entire Region 7.
He highlighted the importance of collaboration with both local and national counterparts, including top officers from Manila and other parts of the country.
Kuya Nick’s leadership is expected to bring renewed energy, foster unity, and enhance service among municipal and city councilors in Central Visayas.
The newly elected team aims to strengthen cooperation, advance legislative initiatives, and promote good governance and public service across the region. — / RAE (FREEMAN)
