CEBU, Philippines — Over the past weekend, Cebu 5th District Representative Duke Frasco turned over several key projects and assistance programs to the people of Liloan and nearby municipalities.

Frasco personally facilitated the turnover of a ?20-million check from the Office of the President to the Municipality of Liloan. This assistance is intended to support residents affected by the recent flash floods and Typhoon Tino.

In coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, a total of 1,561 beneficiaries in Liloan received ?7,456,000 in cash assistance.

For the third consecutive week, Frasco has been distributing aid to families affected by the natural calamities, with plans to continue next week for those who have yet to receive support.

Additionally, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in collaboration with Frasco’s office, distributed ?5,400 each to 497 beneficiaries, totaling ?2,683,800.

Frasco thanked DOLE Secretary Benny Laguesma and DOLE Regional Director Roy Buenafe for their continued support in helping Liloan residents recover from Typhoon Tino.

Aside from relief efforts, several infrastructure projects were also delivered.

These includes a ?5-million school covered court for Lataban National High School in Barangay Lataban, Liloan, to support school activities such as intramurals and graduation ceremonies; a ?34.2-million road concreting project in Barangay Bactas, Catmon, designed to improve transport for farmers and boost tourism access to Mount Kapayas; and a ?10-million, one-story, three-classroom building for Tangke Elementary School in Barangay Dakit, Municipality of Sogod. — (FREEMAN)
