City Hall opens satellite extension in Talamban
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Hall Satellite Extension Office in Barangay Talamban formally opened at its barangay gym yesterday as part of the city government’s effort to decentralize services to the barangays.
“This office will provide more accessible and convenient services for our residents in the North District,” Mayor Nestor Archival said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Talamban Satellite Office will offer a range of frontline services including the issuance of cedula, CHAMP (City Hospitalization and Medicines Program), burial assistance applications, services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), social pension and solo parent applications, Certificate of Indigency for PhilHealth, DSWD attestations, and AICS (Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations) applications.
Mayor Archival assured that more services will be added soon to further enhance accessibility for upland barangays and not solely for the residents of Talamban alone.
Barangay Captain Dario Arcilla has been authorized to endorse Talamban residents for CHAMP benefits at select hospitals, while Department of Social Welfare and Services Officer-in-Charge Portia Basmayor confirmed that personnel will be deployed daily to attend to walk-in clients.
On the other hand, the Cebu City Government, in partnership with the Cebu Lady Lawyers Association Inc. (CELLA) and Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cebu City Chapter’s community-centered, accessible, responsive, equitable, and service-driven or simply CARES program also continues.
This One-Stop-Shop Service Caravan will be at the T. Padilla Gym from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM today, Sept. 19.
The caravan will offer free legal consultations, civil registration assistance, government clearances, health and social welfare services, and livelihood support.
Most services are free, with minimal fees for clearances and document copies.
First-time jobseekers are expected to get police clearance.
Aside from that, Congressman Edu Rama’s Help Desk also shifted gears to Kalunasan Covered Court beside the Barangay Hall today until Sunday (September 19–21) to process medical and burial assistance applications.
Residents are reminded to bring complete documentary requirements to avoid delays. JG (CEBU NEWS)
