Fire hits a warehouse in Pahina San Nicolas

Nicholas Jon Malaga - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  A fire partially burned a two-story house-turned-warehouse in Barangay Pahina San Nicolas, Cebu City, causing an estimated P5.2 million in damages.

The blaze reportedly started around 6 p.m., and was raised to its first alarm by 6:16 p.m. Firefighters put it under control at 6:50 p.m., and declared it totally extinguished by 7:05 p.m., or a little over an hour after.

Responding units from the Cebu City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Cebu City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (CDRRMC) conducted the entire firefighting operations.

Based on the initial investigation, the 150-square-meter residential establishment, which was converted into a warehouse, is owned by a certain John Paul Go.

Cebu City BFP confirmed there were no reported casualties because nobody was inside the warehouse, not even the caretaker, when the fire struck.

Meanwhile, firefighting authorities were still conducting further investigation to determine the cause of the blaze
