Cebu hosts Taiwan tourism workshop that highlights cultural exchange
CEBU, Philippines — Taiwan’s tourism offerings took center stage in Cebu as the 2025 Taiwan Waves of Wonder Tourism Workshop unfolded at the Niña Ballroom of Radisson Blu Cebu on July 16.
The event brought together travel professionals, airline partners, and tourism stakeholders for an evening of cultural exchange and industry collaboration.
Organized by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, the workshop featured a Travel Mart showcasing curated experiences from top Taiwanese tourism organizations.
Exhibitors presented a range of travel products—from nature retreats and luxury stays to family-friendly attractions—designed to appeal to the Filipino market.
The program opened with a dynamic performance by FunTo Art, followed by a welcome address from Mr. Wallace Minn-Gan Chow, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines.
He emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and cultural connection. Ms. Judy Dela Cruz Gabato, Regional Director of the Department of Tourism Region VII, echoed this sentiment, highlighting shared goals for sustainable and inclusive tourism development.
A ceremonial toast and group photo brought together key figures from the airline, travel, and hospitality sectors.
Interactive segments, including a Taiwan-themed Q&A and Bring Me Game, added a festive atmosphere, while a dance performance celebrating Taiwanese culinary traditions—such as bubble tea and classic stir-fry banquets—captivated the audience.
The event’s success reinforced Taiwan’s commitment to strengthening tourism ties with the Philippines.
