The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The International Fraternal Order of Eagles (Philippines) launched its first feeding program for 2025 yesterday, July 6, in the Little Tokyo community of Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City, providing nourishment to dozens of children as part of its commitment to community service and social responsibility.

The outreach activity was spearheaded by the organization’s president, Atty. Orlando Salatandre, along with international socialite and philanthropist Happy Melendres, who both led the distribution of meals and snacks to the young beneficiaries.

Melendres, aside from being an international fashion influencer is also known for her charitable work locally, shared her joy in taking part in the event.

“I love children, and being part of something that puts smiles on their faces is always fulfilling,” she said.

The feeding program is one of the many community-based initiatives under the Fraternal Order of Eagles’ national campaign to promote compassion, unity, and service across the country.

The organization said similar outreach activities are lined up throughout the year in various regions.

According to Salatandre, the group’s visit to Cebu also coincided with the oath-taking ceremony of new members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Cebu chapters, further strengthening the organization's presence and network in the Visayas.

Salatandre emphasized that outreach programs like the one held in Little Tokyo are central to the Eagles’ mission of "Service through Strong Brotherhood," one of the guiding principles that the organization upholds. (CEBU NEWS)
