Baricuatro, Ruiz join forces

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — It's official. Cebu gubernatorial candidate Pamela Baricuatro and vice gubernatorial candidate Lito Ruiz yesterday announced their tandem for this May 12 midterm elections.

In an interview, Baricuatro explained that from the very start, she and Ruiz were supposed to run as a tandem but along the way some things did not align with their plans.

From the start, supposed to be mag tandem mi ni Lito unya something naay mga documents kuwang unya last minute na sad. So, mao to nga wa siya madayon sa PDP,  said Baricuatro, which was also confirmed by Ruiz.

Kami gyud tong duha then pag abot sa unahan, siya sa Partido Federal unya ako PDP. Paghuman nauna siya'ng na PDP, unya ako nawagtang ko sa passing mao to filed as an independent candidate,  said Ruiz.

This is meant to be, we will run together. Pareha man mi ni Lito og goal para sa kaayuhan sa katawhan. So, why not?,  Baricuatro said.

Baricuatro and Ruiz, however, said that there are instances where they have to campaign separately even if they are now running as tandem candidates.

Iyahay mi og panginhas, pero naa pud usahay mag-abot sa rally. Sama ani karon,  said Ruiz.

Both Baricuatro and Ruiz attended the  Pasasalamat ni PPRD with OFWs  organized by members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) held in Talisay City yesterday.

 But destined gyud ming duha.

Pareha mi og goal sa among panglantaw sa Sugbo,  Baricuatro said.

Now that they have announced their tandem, Ruiz said Cebuanos will be seeing more of them together in the coming days.

The more you see us. Kini among tandem ni Pam, wala ni malisya, dili ni loveteam kun dili love namo ang Sugbo,  Ruiz further said.

Former Cebu City mayor Michael Rama, who is currently the vice chairman of PDP in the Visayas, has  no comment  on the latest joining of forces of Baricuatro and Ruiz.

Rama, who also attended the KOJC event, said he will just set a separate press conference about it and among other issues.  (CEBU NEWS)
