CEBU, Philippines — A total of 238 minors were rescued by the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) during a series of operations dubbed as “Oplan Bulabog,” an initiative aimed at enforcing curfew regulations and enhancing public safety.

According to the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), law enforcement officials conducted inspections of 854 establishments and engaged with 874 individuals from February 26 to 27. These operations led to the identification and rescue of minors who were found in violation of curfew regulations.

The large-scale operation was strategically implemented across key areas of the city, involving the deployment of 100 personnel from Police Stations 1 to 11.

PRO-7 emphasized that the initiative highlights the ongoing commitment of the Central Visayas police force to protect children while enhancing police visibility within Cebu City’s districts.

The operation incorporated specialized units, including the City Mobile Force Company, Drug Enforcement Units, and Traffic personnel. PRO-7 also noted that collaboration with the Cebu City government and barangay officials was crucial in ensuring the effective enforcement of local ordinances and the prevention of criminal activities in the metro.

“This initiative underscores the CCPO’s dedication to public safety and its proactive approach to crime deterrence through heightened police presence,” PRO-7 said in a statement.

PRO-7 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan commended the strategic efforts of Cebu City’s leadership, emphasizing their dedication to public safety and crime prevention.

“Police presence on the streets plays a crucial role in reducing crime and enhancing community confidence,” Maranan said.

“I commend our 'Makabagong Pulis' in Cebu City for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the well-being of Cebuanos, reflecting their preparedness to confront challenges with resolve and professionalism,” he added. (CEBU NEWS)
