CNU to honor jubilarians in grand alumni
CEBU, Philippines — It will be a celebration of milestones as seven class jubilarians are set to be honored at Cebu Normal University's (CNU) upcoming grand alumni homecoming.
CNU, through the Federation of Cebu Normal University Alumni Associations Inc. (FCNUAAI), will honor the jubilarians at the homecoming event, which will be titled “BalikCNU 2024.”
The state university’s alumni federation invites all former students to attend the grand alumni homecoming on November 16.
This homecoming will embrace the theme, “Empowering Minds, Transforming Futures: Bridging Gaps in the Digital Age.”
As they return to their alma mater, Normalites will gather at the Idea and Knowledge Center, formerly known as Samuel McClintock Hall, at the CNU Main Campus.
This year's homecoming will honor CNU batches celebrating their 20th to 60th anniversaries.
Batch 1964 will be honored as Diamond Jubilarians as they celebrate their 60th anniversary. Batch 1974 will be recognized as Golden Jubilarians for their 50th anniversary, while Batch 1984, marking 40 years, will be honored as Ruby Jubilarians.
Additionally, Normalites from Batch 1989 will be honored as Jade Jubilarians for celebrating 35 years, while Batch 1994 will be recognized as Pearl Jubilarians for marking their 30th anniversary.
As Batch 1999 celebrates 25 years, they will be honored as Silver Jubilarians and completing the list is Batch 2004 that will be honored as Emerald Jubilarians for reaching their 20th anniversary.
FCNUAAI Executive Director Dr. Nenita Lapingcao said the homecoming is open to all CNU alumni, including those from kindergarten, elementary, high school, college, and graduate school, inviting them to attend “a special day of get-together.”
Lapingcao added that the Normalites will also witness the awarding of the 'Garbo sa CNU,' presented to former students who are now excelling in various fields of endeavor.
Moreover, the alumni federation announced that homecoming tickets are available at the FCNUAAI Alumni Office or through class or batch coordinators.
For those opting to walk-in, tickets will also be available at the main entrance of the CNU Main Campus during the homecoming next Saturday. — (FREEMAN)
