Newly-concreted Tulay-Tungkop road inaugurated
CEBU, Philippines — In order to help decongest traffic along the national highway in Minglanilla town, the P36.28 million worth newly-concreted Tulay-Tungkop road section was inaugurated last Friday, August 9, 2024.
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia led the inauguration of the Capitol-funded project covering a 2.12-kilometer road section with a width of 6.10 meters and 9 inches thickness of cement.
In a report by Sugbo News, Capitol’s official media arm, the Tulay-Tungkop road section is one of the Capitol’s projects that aim to modernize the road networks of the towns and cities in the province.
This road will also serve as an alternative route in the town to ease the traffic situation along the national highway.
According to Sugbo News, the project promotes transportation improvement in the town ensuring a safer and more efficient road for Cebuanos.
In her speech, Garcia said that the Capitol will also provide solar lights along the said road section.
“Aron uban sa kahayag sa kagabhion, ang kahayag usab sa kaugmaon sa mga Minglanillahanon,” said Garcia in her speech.
Further, the governor also promised the town that the provincial government will give and put up industrial fans in the covered court of barangay Tungkop in Minglanilla town.
Present during the inauguration were First District Board Member Raul Bacaltos, Minglanilla Mayor Rajiv Enad, Vice Mayor Elanito Peña, and other Minglanilla local officials. — (FREEMAN)
