Borbon RHU, PhilHealth ink mental health pact

CEBU, Philippines — Residents of Borbon and nearby towns are expected to have better access to mental health support and other medical aid with the establishment of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of the Municipality of Borbon as is the first-ever PhilHealth-accredited Outpatient Mental Health Package (OMHP) provider in Central Visayas.

PhilHealth Regional Vice President Marjorie Cabrieto signed the contract with Borbon RHU during the PhilHealth Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (KonSulTa) Caravan in the town on Friday, July 18.

“Ginasigurado na healthy ang mga lumulupyo dinhi sa Borbon...dili muasenso ang Borbon kung dili healthy ang mga tao,” said Cabrieto in her speech.

Aside from being accredited as OMHP Provider, Borbon RHU is also an accredited facility for other four health packages.

These accredited packages in Borbon RHU include PhilHealth KonSulTa Package, Maternity Care and Newborn Care Packages, Tuberculosis Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse (TB DOTS), and Animal Bite Treatment Package.

The certifications of these packages are valid until December 31, 2024.

PhilHealth KonSulTa Caravan prioritizes senior citizens, who are catered for Member Data Record (MDR) releasing and First Patient Encounter on KonSulTa.

The Borbon RHU said on their Facebook page, that this “is a testament to the commitment of PhilHealth and Borbon RHU to providing quality healthcare services to those who need it most.”

They added that their partnership with PhilHealth has made significant impact on the health outcomes of Borbonanons. — (FREEMAN)
