4 arrested in drug den in Lapu-Lapu City
CEBU, Philippines — Four individuals were arrested in an alleged drug den at Zone Lato, Barangay Kalawisan, Lapu-Lapu City, in a buy-bust operation Wednesday afternoon, July 17, 2024.
Operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- 7 and Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Intelligence Unit-7 arrested Macvie Cabalhug, 34, who was identified as the main target and maintainer of the drug den.
Also taken into custody were Montano Alarde, 35, a worker at the drug den, along with James Kingsley Alcala, 34, and Anthony Toring, 31, both visitors of the drug den.
Seized from the suspects were 12 packs of shabu, totaling to 12 grams with an estimated street value of P81,600, plus the buy-bust money and various drug paraphernalia.
Following a three-week surveillance period prompted by a citizen's tip-off, PDEA-7 reported that Cabalhug and Alarde were allegedly involved in distributing 10 to 15 grams of illegal drugs weekly.
The suspects are currently detained at the police custodial facility while awaiting the filing of criminal complaints for violation of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (CEBU NEWS)
