Boysen Paints rules CABC 6th Corporate Cup
CEBU, Philippines — The Boysen Paints-Sugbo Chapter fended off the Modern Windows-Datu Lapu-Lapu Chapter, 65-59, in their sudden-death final match to emerge as champion of the Cebu Architects’ Basketball Club (CABC) 6th Corporate Cup at the Benedicto College gymnasium recently.
Klein Baladya paced Boysen Paints with 13 points, one assist and one steal, while Dexsel Caadan added 11 points, five rebounds, and two steals.
Chester Hinagdanan also made his presence felt with seven points, eight assists and six rebounds as well as Miggy Aparri with five points, seven boards, and two dimes for Boysen Paints, which raced to a hot 13-4 start.
Down by four at halftime, 25-29, Modern Windows greeted the third period with a 7-0 blitz to seize the upper hand, 32-29, but only for a brief moment as Boysen Paints regained its offensive bearing to grab back the lead, 45-41,going into the final 10-minute mark of the contest.
Modern Windows stayed within striking range, 51-54, but Boysen Paints fought with composure under pressure to breeze through a six-point victory.
Justin Aspacio and Kim Rebosura each had 12 points while Joseph Cabigas tallied 11 markers in a losing effort for Modern Windows.
In the battle for third place, Zach Elisha Go fired 24 points, three rebounds, and three assists, while John Terrence Buhawe produced a solid double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds laced with four steals as Davies Paints edged Landlite, 59-55.
