CEBU, Philippines —  Two illegal firearms makers were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Provincial Field Unit in Sitio Cantawan, Barangay Cahumayan, Danao City, yesterday morning.

Those arrested were Nelson Macabos Monticalbo 39, married, and Teodoro Quimbo Lugas, 56, married. Both are residents of Barangay Cahumayan.

Police said they received information about the two making illegal guns, so they placed them under surveillance. When the information proved positive, they immediately conducted a buy-bust operation.

Policemen confiscated three .45 cal. pistols, magazines, and ammunition, as well as tools and equipment for making weapons such as two push drills, two electric grinders, two saws, three hammers, and eight .45 cal. handgrips.
