Father, son injured in Carcar shooting
CEBU, Philippines — A father and son were wounded after they were shot by still unidentified men while driving along Sitio Cambuntan Barangay Bolinawan, Carcar City past 7 a.m. June 7, 2024.
The victims were identified as Froilan Lañas Tolentino a.k.a. Patok, 60, an LGU traffic enforcer; and his son, Wyeth Jose Apao Tolentino, 20. Both are residents of Sitio Lagang Barangay Bolinawan Carcar City.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Bryan ‘O Neil Salvacion, Carcar City Chief of Police, they immediately responded after receiving a call from a concerned citizen regarding a shooting incident.
Based on initial investigation by the responding police both victims were riding a motorcycle bound to Carcar City Hall, when two unidentified suspects on board a motorcycle tailed them and suddenly shot the victims using an unidentified caliber of firearm.
The victims suffered gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies and were rushed to the hospital.
The suspects immediately fled the scene, heading to Carcar City proper.
