Husband arrested for killing ex-wife’s alleged lover
CEBU, Philippines — The suspect in the stabbing and killing of his ex-wife’s alleged lover is now detained and will face charges for the crime he committed.
The incident happened at 6:45 a.m. at sitio San Roque, Lorega, San Miguel, Cebu City.
The suspect was identified as Emebert Cruz Uy, 34, a resident of the area, while the victims were identified as Bethy Bolaño Uy, 31 years old and an ex-wife of the suspect; and Raymart Ricardo Baril, 30 years old, and a resident of T. Padilla St., Barangay Day-as, Cebu City.
A police investigation revealed that the suspect was at an internet café just around the area where the incident happened when a certain person tipped him with information that his ex-wife was living with the victim.
Immediately after hearing that, Emebert proceeded to his ex-wife’s residence and positively confirmed the information.
The suspect stabbed the victim several times in different parts of his body, while Bethy also sustained a wound on her arm.
Further, an initial police investigation also revealed that Emebert and Bethy were married for two years and were separated just last year, though not legally. They had three children who are all minors.
Baril was brought to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead. — (FREEMAN)
