Man arrested for selling unlicensed firearms
CEBU, Philippines — A man who was allegedly engaged in pawning and selling unlicensed firearms was arrested in an operation Thursday night at sitio Tanguile, Busay, Cebu City.
The operation was conducted by the operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in coordination with the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).
The 21-year-old suspect was identified as Adrian Erro, also known as "Adi" and a resident of sitio Sambag II, Guadalupe, Cebu City and is presently residing at the place where he was arrested.
Confiscated from the suspect were two units of Colt .45 caliber pistols, two pieces of steel magazines for .45 caliber pistols, and two pieces of live ammunition of .45 caliber.
Also confiscated were a genuine P500 bill and bogus bills amounting to P7,000.
Initial police investigations revealed that the suspect was also allegedly engaged in a series of robbery incidents involving cell phones and a small amount of money in Busay, but his victims refused to file charges against him.
Before the buy-bust or entrapment operation, a poseur buyer transacted with the suspect and agreed to meet and buy one unit of a .45 caliber pistol for P7,500 at his residence. The transaction resulted in the successful arrest of the target.
The arrested suspect is now detained at the CIDG for the proper filing of charges against him. — (FREEMAN)
