CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has reminded the bus operators and even the passengers that it is not allowed to pick up passengers outside the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT).

This was after some buses were captured by the closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras at CSBT that picked up passengers outside the terminal.

The Capitol, through its news portal Sugbo News, posted the images of buses that were caught on cam violating the said policy. These images were reported and submitted by the management of CSBT to the governor during the department head’s meeting yesterday.

The photos bared the plate number of the bus and its plate number including the time and date of the violation.

The Capitol said picking up passengers just outside the terminal is strictly prohibited because it is dangerous and prone to accidents, especially for those passengers who will board the bus in the middle of the road.

This will also create traffic congestion in the said area along Natalio Bacalso Avenue causing hassle to some motorists passing by.

“Dako kining bugal-bugal sa Probinsya sa Sugbo kinsa naningkamot nga kabutangan og tarong, hapsay, ug hamugaway nga bus terminal ang mga mobyahe paingon sa habagatang Sugbo,” the Capitol said.

Garcia urged the passengers to go inside the terminal and wait for their bus and not wait for any accident to happen before following the reminders of authorities.

“Alang usab sa mga bus operators, usa kini ka warning gikan ni Gobernador Garcia nga mamahimong suspendihon ang inyong prangkisa kon magpadayong magmagahi ang inyo drivers ug konduktor nga mo-pick up ug mag-atang og pasahero gawas sa terminal,” the Capitol warned. — (FREEMAN)
