Woman killed by her brother
CEBU, Philippines — An woman died after she was beaten by her brother who was drunk at their home in Gentle Peace Subdivision in Barangay Lawaan 2, Talisay City last Thursday night.
The victim is Lugela Geraldez Morales, 44, while the suspect is her younger brother, Levan Geraldez Morales, 42-years-old.
Initial investigation conducted by the police revealed that based on the account of their mother, Evangeline, the incident happened after the brother who was under the influence of liquor unjustly provoked the victim by smacking her shoulder.
Allegedly, the victim who was suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) got irritated thus erupted in anger.
The victim in return allegedly uttered defamatory words towards her brother who got angry and a heated argument ensued.
The arguments continued until the suspect dragged the victim to the floor and punched several times in the face and head.
The suspect stopped beating his sister when she became unconscious.
The responding police immediately arrested the suspect and took the victim to the Talisay District Hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.
