“Notorious carnapper” falls in Carcar City
CEBU, Philippines — The Carcar City police personnel have arrested an alleged carnapper who stole a man's motorcycle while the victim was withdrawing money past 9 p.m. last Sunday.
The police have identified the suspect as Michael Angelo Mored Marientes, 31, single and a resident of Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
The victim was Jimmy Basallo Navarra, 30, married, and a resident of Sitio Camagayan, Barangay Perrelos.
Police Lt. Col. Ardioleto Cabagnot, chief of the Carcar City Police Station, said the victim was withdrawing money from an ATM in Barangay Poblacion II, while he parked his motorcycle at a distance.
But when he returned, his motorcycle was already gone. The victim then asked some people around and someone told him the description of the suspect who took his motorcycle.
The victim immediately went to the police station and reported the incident. The Carcar City Police Station quickly alerted all units to be vigilant in their area for anyone passing by that would fit the description of the suspect.
