Romeo D. Marantal - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — A 40-year-old woman was arrested for selling shabu while also selling food in Purok Upper Sange, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City last Saturday night.

Authorities identified the suspect as Elmilyne Fajardo Ponce alias Elmie, of Sitio Bato, Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.

Ponce said she started in the month of January this year and she was given illegal drugs for the fourth time and she was paid P500 per medium pack for each delivery.

She also admitted that she was the one who sold himself of the drugs that would be delivered to her by a man and sometimes a woman who is not known to her.

Police Lt. Elwood Ebona of the Drug Enforcement Unit said that Ponce was arrested in January 2017 for selling illegal drugs.

Ponce was released from prison through a plea bargaining agreement in December 2019.

Ebona said that a few weeks after Ponce's release, she returned to the usual illegal activities.

The operative seized Ponce's shabu weighing 85 grams worth P578,000.

The suspect can dispose of 100 grams per week around Barangay Ermita, Cebu City and in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City and other places. She got supplies of shabu from a certain "Keir" as the middleman who is incarcerated at Cebu City Jail. (FREEMAN)
