CEBU, Philippines — After launching specific tourism activities in the municipalities of Moalboal and Oslob, the Cebu Provincial Tourism Task Force, headed by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, visited the town of Barili to officially reopen the tourism in the municipality yesterday.

The All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) adventure highlights the reopening of the tourism industry in Barili. The 10.5-kilometer terrain consisting of rough road, mud, cliff and limestone wall combined with the scenic view of the Tañon Strait and the island of Negros guarantees total enjoyment for tourists. Barili is the first town in the southern part of Cebu to offer an ATV adventure.

Mayor Marlon Garcia of Barili was overwhelmed when five local tourists booked the one and a half hour ATV adventure thru the central portal on the very first day of reopening the tourism activities in his town. The ATV adventure costs P800 per person.

The mayor said the town will also open their newest tourist attraction--dolphin watching with over 200 dolphins--in September this year. As of the moment they are still outlining the protocols in line with the Executive Order 20-A issued by the governor.

Currently, among the top attractions in Barili is the Mantayupan falls at 98 meters, which is considered as the tallest waterfalls in the province. To limit the number of visitors of tourism-related activities, the provincial government developed an online booking portal--- discover.cebu.gov.ph. These attractions in Barili are already up in the online booking portal.

After the successful three days launching of reopening of tourism in the province,  Governor Garcia is inviting the 3.2 million locals in the Province of Cebu to support their move in reviving the tourism industry by participating and availing the tour packages.

Next weekend, the governor will also launch the reopening of canyoneering in Badian-Alegria and other specific activities in the two municipalities. — FPL (FREEMAN)
