Medical mission opens province’s 450th anniversary

CEBU, Philippines — To kick off the 450th founding anniversary of the Cebu, the provincial government conducted a medical mission yesterday.

Provincial Health Officer (PHO) Dra. Christina Gianggo said that this is one of its health and wellness activities, as part the province’s milestone celebration.

"Every year, mao mani siya usa sa atong activities," she said.

The medical mission started with the registration and taking of blood sugar and the cholesterol for the employees.

There was also a bloodletting activity to prevent lifestyle diseases like hypertension and diabetes.

She added that the medical team also conducted health education for awareness, free consultations, free medicines and vaccinations.

They also had a public massage as an alternative medicine to relieve stress and to have a relaxing experience.

She also encouraged the public to join, since the medical mission is not only for Capitol employees but also for the public.

"Nya mag-support ta nila if mag-ask sila," Gianggo said.

The official opening of the anniversary celebration will be on August 5 where several activities will be showcased assigned to different departments and commissioned board members.

The activities include the agri-fair , 1Cebu Expo and the revival of the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo. — Jed Harvey M. Ondiano, CNU Intern/GAN (FREEMAN)
