Woman charged for using fake bills
CEBU, Philippines — For allegedly in possession and in control of six fake P100 bills, a 38-year-old woman is facing charges in court.
Cherrylyn Pajuta Rojo, a resident of Sitio Beaver, Barangay Day-as, Cebu City, was charged for violation of Article 168 of the Revised Penal Code.
In their affidavit of arrest, the members of the Barangay Public Safety Officer (BPSO) of Barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City alleged that at 8 a.m. last May 9, 2019, a motorcycle driver sought for their assistance.
The driver alleged his passenger from Jakosalem St., Barangay Parian, Cebu City paid him a fake P100.
The BPSO members approached the woman later identified as Rojo and asked for another bill.
Rojo, however, took another fake P100 bill.
When they compared the two fake bills, the BPSO members said they noticed that it had the same serial numbers.
The BPSO asked Rojo where she got those fake bills but the latter did not answer. Hence, they placed Rojo under arrest.
They were able to recover other four fake P100 bills from her possession.
Prosecutor III Aurora Peñaflor recommended P72,000 bail for Rojo’s temporary liberty, while the case is pending in court. (FREEMAN)
