CEBU, Philippines — Public testimonies and touching personal encounters with the late Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal will be documented soon.

Cebu City North District Rep. Raul del Mar is spearheading the publication of a commemorative book in honor of the late prelate and anyone could be part of it, especially those whose lives has been moved by him.

“For everyone whose lives were touched with the encounter of the charismatic and beloved cardinal, we hope for you to be able to share your stories to the faithful in the hope that through this body of work, more lives will be blessed, enriched and truly inspired,” he said.

People can share their stories in English, Tagalog or Visayan. Submission is open starting today, in time for his first death anniversary and will close a year after.

One can submit his or her story through email: [email protected]. People may also call (032)253-4222 if they have additional queries. The most significant stories or anecdotes, especially those that are life-changing and meaningful, will be picked and compiled.

Sources of stories selected for the compilation will be notified through email. But contributors must be willing to be contacted should there be additional requests for story verification.

Supporting documents, corroborating eyewitness accounts and other sources may be tapped to further add veracity to the contribution. Sources also must be willing to be quoted directly as story contributors with their profiles included in the article.

The book is scheduled for release in 2021 to coincide with the Jubilee Year celebration of the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines.

The book will be published both in print and electronic formats. Contributors will get a commemorative copy of the book. — FPL (FREEMAN)
