Philippine Medical Association gives free services
CEBU, Philippines — As its way to give back and provide services to the needy, the Philippine Medical Association- Cebu Medical Society (PMA-CMS) offers free medical services which highlights its 61st Medicine Week observance.
This year's theme is "Pilipinong Manggagamot: Makatao, Mapagkatiwalaan, Mapaglingkud sa Sambayan."
The weeklong observance, spearheaded by PMA-CMS, will be closing this Saturday, September 29.
The event was opened on September 23 wherein free minor surgeries were given according to CMS President Dr. Bernadita Chua and over-all chairman Dr. Leticia Abinuman.
The free services were performed by surgeon members of the CMS affiliate societies held at the Cebu Medical Society building in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City last Sunday afternoon.
In the succeeding days, different specialists provided free consultations at the same venue.
Aside from free consultations, CMS members also conducted lectures on environmental-related initiatives simultaneously done in different areas in Cebu City.
Today, September 28, registered beneficiaries are set to receive free pneumonia and flu vaccination.
People have to register beforehand to avail the free services as these are given in first-come-first-serve basis.
The Friday event is in coordination with the Cebu City Health Office and the Department of Health Region 7. — MBG (FREEMAN)
